The case brought by the Mauritian government against Great Britain regarding the creation of a marine park in the Chagos took a new turn.
The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) has completed an important step by appointing Albert Hoffman of South Africa, James Kateka from Tanzania and Ivan Shearer of Australia as arbitrators of the Tribunal of Hamburg in the case between the two countries.
The Australian representative will act as the chairperson.
