Father sexually abuses 11-year-old daughter

A man who has been frequently abusing his 11 years old daughter was arrested by police. The man, a resident of Riviere des Creoles, Mahebourg, appeared before the local Magistrate Court on 6th October 2009.
The victim is now in the care of the Child Protection Unit together with her two other sisters, aged 3 and 1.
Apparently the young girl confided her problem in her school mates who in turn reported the matter to their teacher. Police was called to investigate.
According to medical examination by police doctor traces of scratching and bruises were found on the intimate parts of the victim.
The father was remanded in custody.
