The weather during September has been generally favourable to the ripening of the sugar cane. This is the notice put forward by the Mauritius Sugar Industry Research Institute in its monthly bulletin, covering the evolution of the sugar cane for the past month.

The pluviometer recorded a positive result for the plantation, the temperature and the sunshine having boosted the quality of the canes with a better productivity than for the corresponding period of the year 2008.
